The coach training programme is
Level 2 approved by ICF
The coach training programme at Sofia Manning is Level 2 accredited by ICF, which has the highest ranked international accreditation system. The Level 2 accreditation is the highest accreditation that can be obtained internationally and serves as a stamp of quality for the educational institution in relation to both the professional level and the ethical standard.
In other words, our programmes meet a number of specific requirements designed to ensure quality. To obtain Level 2 accreditation, you must fulfill all of the following requirements - and we do! Here are the requirements:
Minimum 125 hours of coach specific training - with us you get a total of 155 approved training hours!
Training in all ICF core competences and the ICF Code of Ethics at PCC level
Minimum 6 observed coaching sessions
10 mentor coaching hours with a qualified ICF certified coach
All coach-specific educators, mentors and examiners are ICF certified coaches
A comprehensive final exam assessing the student's coaching competences at PCC level
The essence of the ICF's Level 2 requirements is really very simple:
1) The content must be in order.
2) The content must be delivered by certified professional coaches.
3) Feedback, Mentoring and the final exam are seen as central and therefore very high demands are placed on the competences and level of education of not only teachers, but also Feedbackers, Mentors and Examiners.
As one of the country's leading providers of coach education, it is only natural that we maintain this highest internationally recognised standard. We very much agree with ICF that one should be deeply professional about Coaching and take the subject seriously and therefore we have made every effort to live up to all the requirements.
With that said, we think that our experience and track-record says more about the quality and validity of our programmes. For us, our students' feedback is the most important seal of approval and we dare to encourage you to ask about our students' experiences. You are also always welcome to attend one of our intro events, where you can meet us, get answers to your questions - and usually also meet some of our current students.
Please note that as a trained coach, you do not automatically become ICF approved afterwards - this is something you have to take care of yourself if you want it. However, when you take the Coach Education with Sofia Manning, it is as easy as it can be, because the only thing you will subsequently need to obtain is your personal ICF accreditation which is the only thing we cannot do for you: Demonstrating experience in the form of 100 hours of professional coaching. Obtaining a personalised ICF accreditation may be relevant for those who wish to make a professional living from coaching in a country other than Denmark. In the vast majority of cases, however, it is more than sufficient that you have taken your education with us.
